About Us:

St Andrew’s Book Festival is brought to you by Scots in London, an umbrella organisation for Scottish cultural societies, sports clubs, alumni groups, charities, churches and the Scottish military in London. The Scots in London mission is to co-ordinate our members’ events, promote Scottish heritage, culture and the arts in the London area, and to support relevant charities, as well as running events of our own.

We were founded by a dozen London-based Scottish organisations in 2016, to plan and co-ordinate events commemorating Armistice100, which also led to the publishing of the book Scots in Great War London.

Our Royal Patron

HRH The Princess Royal

HRH The Princess Royal :

Scots in London are very proud that HRH The Princess Royal has been our Patron since 2016, when Her Royal Highness agreed to take on that role for our predecessor body, Scots In Great War London. We are honoured that Her Royal Highness is now our Royal Patron.

The Princess Royal championed our initiative to bring together Scottish organisations in London to commemorate the end of World War I, providing the foreword to our commemorative book, and speaking at its launch in June 2018 where Her Royal Highness met and encouraged all the member organisations.

At our closing event in 2019 The Princess spoke warmly of our achievements, praised the work of our member organisations’ many volunteers, and encouraged us to continue to work together: promoting Scottish culture and heritage, co-ordinating and communicating events, supporting Scottish charities in the capital, and contributing to the life of the city where we live.

Now reborn as Scots in London, we are doing just that. We are extremely grateful that Her Royal Highness has agreed to become the Royal Patron for our new venture.
